Hi everyone My name is Kell and I’m a 34 year old female from Michigan. Every year I tell myself that this is the year that everything will change. This will be the year that I will get in shape. And every year, I fail. I either start it and and get bored easily and give up, or I just don’t even start it. But this year was different. On December 31, 2012, I signed up for a year membership at Planet Fitness. One way or another, I was going to succeed.
I started out pretty slow. There were excuses again. I can’t go today because I’m tired. I can’t go today because I’ve got too much other things to do. And when I would go, I wasn’t putting in the 100% effort that I needed to. I was half assing it and hoping that nobody would be the wiser.
I never thought that my “calorie” intake was really as bad as it was. I always thought that I was just going over a little of where I needed to be. And my eating habits were terrible! Sure, I’d eat pizza; But since I didn’t eat anything for breakfast or lunch that day, I was ok. I had no clue about how bad I really was.
My best friend decided that he was going to join PF also. This is when I started to take things 100% serious. He bought both of us Fit Bits. This amazing gem keeps track of everything. Keeps track of your steps, your water intake, calories taken in, calories burned. It even keeps track of your sleep patterns and efficiency! Once I got the Fit Bit, I realized how much of a change I needed to make.
Now that I’ve been working out consistently and monitoring my food daily, I have lost 9.5 pounds in a two week time frame. Things couldn’t be better and I couldn’t be happier. I finally am starting to feel the difference in myself that I needed. And I’m finally heading in the right direction….
